TUSCAN CULTURAL COMMUNITY CENTER
Designed is a new mixed-use complex that considers both buildings and landscape, and is both contemporary in design and yet respectful of its historic setting. The design scheme explores the tension between the new intervention and the adjacent historic buildings to address the ever-changing life of buildings and the spirit of space.
The proposed Cultural Community Center for Foro Boario in Castiglion Fiorentino is an immersive journey. A centralized organization scheme is used to transition from a complex, and busy space towards the intimate and quiet space. And transitional zone will exist between the two buildings to prepare the participant for the change in experience. The different experiences felt throughout both the exterior and interior space will be varied through the use of lighting, volume of space, complexity of masses, pathways, and perception of views. Starting from the entrance into the center, a journey of a constant unfolding scenario is created for the guest.
